Today it's really difficult to "see" the little things. I have a busy morning and an even busier & longer day to look forward to at work. But (and I know I'm not supposed to start sentences with but, but this is my blog, so I can rewrite American english and grammar) so back to what I was going to say... but one of the beautiful things about having this blog is that it also keeps me on the lookout for "the little things". And...I can create my own "little things" when needed. So that is exactly what I did.
As most women know and few men find out, not all women wash their hair every single day. And it's not because we're lazy or trying to grow out dreadlocks it's because we don't want to dry out our hair. So some of us go one, two or dare I say three days without using shampoo and conditioner. Today was a "no wash" hair day for me only because I was in such a big hurry. But I found myself with one hour to spare before I had to report to jail (i mean work) so I decided, I'M GOING TO WASH MY HAIR IN THE KITCHEN SINK!! Now friends that are reading this and suffer from cleanliness please rest assured I scrubbed that sink all up with Comet when I was finished. I promise. When I was young my grandma did it all the time. I never really wondered why but now I know. It's to save the time of taking off all your clothes, getting in the shower, getting all wet, having to dry off and then redress yourself.
My findings are that washing your hair in the kitchen sink is GLORIOUS! Because your nose is so close to your hair (if you have longish hair like mine) you get to smell the delicious suds (just don't eat 'em), you're able to watch your hair move back and forth around the sink (it'll put you in a trance) and listen to the birds outside the kitchen window (how often do you get to hear birds gossiping when you're washing your hair?? It's a totally NEW experience :)) Then when all is said and done all you have to do is grab your towel and wrap it around your head. Done! You've just cut out five time zapping, and totally unnecessary steps in your "get ready for the day routine". You're welcome!
So my order to you is... go wash your hair! In the kitchen sink!
Okay, well I must try this soon.
